Petr Davison Science Teacher Alan Gow Top Bloke

I suffered what was conceivably the most miserable years of my life at Scorton around 70 to 72/3. Teaching methods that even then could only be described as archaic coupled with the petty discipline that fits hand and glove with such an establishment. I remember the slippering i received from prefect Mike ( ice warrior) Bridgen for smoking a No. 6 on the school bus. I hated those bastards with a passion. Anybody familiar with the film If will know exactly where im coming from. I still owe you one, you twat. Mr Davison was a lovely man though....the best of a truly odoius bunch. I have forgiven my parents !

I remember Mr Hale well,I was not much of a scholar so I was a regular on extra prep. If a pupil got an "E" at the end of the week in any subject,then he got the stick from Mr Hale. Needless to say,nearly every friday,I got a beating. In one day I remember,I got 15 strokes, twelve from two masters six each and three with the slipper from a prefect,I spent some hours in the sickbay with matron,my backside black and blue. I wounder how that would be viewed now? Happy days?????

Date on staff photo is incorrect,should be around 1956. Mr Hale died before 1959.

Back row:- Mr Port (known as Pansy) very dapper had hundreds of ties and bowties.--next two masters--then Mr Tyeson (not sure of spelling) use to be the scout leader,good and understanding master. Lived in a small bungalow on the side of the playing field (more like an old RAF hut. front row:- End of row,the reverend gentleman,I think is Mr Maccutchen. His son Michael,also went to the school. Hope this helps?

This photo took me back to 1955. I was slippered by most of them. Have a load of photographs,must send them. Sorry to hear the old school closed down. My father was in the army,was a boarder for some time.
